Met Office Forecasts Rain, Thunderstorm in Karachi Today 2024 | Comprehensive Guide

On Tuesday, the Met Office predicted that rain and dust-thunderstorms would occur in Sindh, including Karachi, as moderate-intensity monsoon currents persist in the province.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that the port city is expected to have rain along with a dust-thunderstorm today (Tuesday) and tomorrow, with occasional breaks. “Met Office Forecasts Rain”.

Due to its influence, the weather forecast department anticipates a dust-thunderstorm accompanied by rain, with a possibility of a few heavy downpours, expected in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Sujawal, and Thatta districts until tomorrow, interspersed with occasional breaks.

“Dust-thunderstorms and rain are expected in Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur, Sanghar, Dadu, Mityari, Hyderabad, T M Khan, T A Yar, and Jamshoro districts until tomorrow (Wednesday), with intermittent breaks,” it further mentioned.

Yesterday, Forecasts Rain the Met Office reported that a low-pressure area (LPA) is situated over the southeast of Rajasthan, India, and is expected to move southwestward in the next 48 hours.

Under the Forecasts Rain influence of this, the PDM had predicted rain/thunderstorm in several parts of the country from September 18 to September 21.

The weather department also said that heavy to isolated falls may inundate low-lying areas in Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Umerkot, Tharparkar and Mirpurkhas from September 18-20.

It advised farmers to manage their crop activities accordingly while tourists are asked to remain cautious to avoid any untoward situation during the period.

“It also stated that wind-thunderstorms have the potential to cause damage to loose structures such as electric poles, solar panels, etc. The general public is advised to seek shelter in safe places during windstorms, lightning, or heavy rains,” it further added.

All the authorities concerned were also advised to remain alert and take necessary precautionary measures during the forecast period.
