Mohammad Rizwan Pakistan’s renowned batsman and an excellent wicket-keeper dedicated his team’s recent victory against Sri Lanka in the ICC Cricket World Cup in October 2023 to the people of Gaza, who have faced relentless Israeli bombardment over the past many days. Due to this, he has to face backlash in India.
Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in Hyderabad India by completing the biggest successful run chase in the history of the competition thanks in large part to Rizwan’s century and he was adjudged the player of the match.
The 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman also sent condolences to the people affected by the earthquake in Afghanistan but it was his sympathy for the Palestinians under siege that infuriated Indian cricket fans. Some of the fans have contacted the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) two boys caught the match and banned Rizwan from playing in the tournament.
